Of Wa Shi Legend
Been watching a lot of movies nowadays. From the much anticipated Golden Compass to the unexpectedly entertaining Enchancted and now, my latest adventure would be Wa Shi Legend or I Am Legend. I first saw the trailer in TGV somewhere in October and I thought it was a much watch kind of film. Its Will Smith, who can resist Will Smith? The story is basically about Will Smith (Dr. Neville) being the last man on Earth. He is the only survivor from a cancer vaccine turned into a virus thingy that makes all the human in the Earth into vampire like creatures.
The whole idea is quite cool actually. One man against all the vampires. From the starting of the movie, you can see that Will Smith living on his own, gathering supplies, conducting experiments to reverse the virus infection and how he interacts with his dog, Samantha. There are a few funny scene here and there. The scene where Will Smith talking to mannequins is kinda funny. Don't expect a lot from this movie though. Will Smith delivers a very good performance that will get him an Oscar.Things that you don't know about the movie:
- I Am Legend is actually the fourth movie from the I Am Legend novel from Richard Matheson
- Other movies are titled I Am Omega and The Omega Man where Omega is from the 'Alpha and Omega' which means 'the beginning and the end'
I Am Omega, released in DVD roughly one month before Will Smith's I Am Legend. After watching this trailer, I'm glad that I watched Will Smith's version. Its way better. Just so you know, the dog, Samantha which the real name is Abbey should get the best supporting actress (its female, silly!). I always wonder how they are able to train the dogs to act in the way they want it to.
